Biography

After earning a degree in print journalism at USC, Dr. Villamagna completed medical school and internal medicine residency in her home state of Nevada, followed by ID fellowship at OHSU. She then completed the Leadership in Epidemiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Public Health (LEAP) Fellowship, during which she worked with Oregon Health Authority to complete a research project studying risk factors for large COVID outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Dr. Villamagna’s clinical interests include inpatient and outpatient general infectious diseases. She is currently the medical director for both Infection Prevention and Employee Health at Hillsboro Medical Center. She is also passionate about medical education, with particular interest in curriculum design, and is the clinical director for two medical student intersession courses focusing infection and pandemics. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and terrier, running marathons, talking about running marathons, and attempting to grow vegetables in the backyard.
