Irene Barhyte is the Chief Operations Officer for the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, with responsibility for finance, administration, communications, events, and operations management. Previously, she was the Senior Associate Dean, Finance and Administration, for the OHSU School of Medicine and Chief Financial Officer for the OHSU Practice Plan. With a deep knowledge of OHSU's organization and financial systems, she was involved in planning for and implementing the integration of OHSU Medical Group into the School of Medicine as the Faculty Practice Plan (renamed the OHSU Practice Plan in 2017), and has been involved in special projects related to research administration.

A native Oregonian, Irene is a graduate of Oregon State University, and has been with OHSU since 1997. She and her husband have two children in college, and love family activities at the beach, paddle boarding, skiing, and yoga.
