Issa Sturm, D.N.P., FNP
Biography
Issa Sturm is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is dedicated to caring for people of all ages, primarily in rural areas. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate education at Oregon Health & Science University, as well as a Pediatric Nurse Residency Program at Vanderbilt University's Childrens Hospital. In 2021, she co-founded a Primary Care Concierge Practice in Ashland, Oregon with an Internal Medicine colleague and mentor. Issa is passionate about providing care to patients in rural areas and building strong relationships with her patients and her community. She believes in diversity, equity and inclusion as well as access to higher education.
As an assistant professor at OHSU, Issa is also the lead professor for the FNP program at the Ashland campus where she works with students in rural areas throughout their graduate program. She particularly enjoys collaborating with students on their Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) quality improvement projects. Issa serves as a committee member for the La Clinica Del Valle Nurse Practitioner Residency Program, as well as a regional representative for Nurse Practitioners of Oregon (NPO) in Southern Oregon.
When Issa is not seeing patients or teaching, she enjoys snowboarding in the mountains or kiteboarding at the coast. Issa and her husband welcomed their first child in early 2024 and look forward to traveling and showing their son some of the world's most beautiful places.
