Biography

Research Interests: As a member of Dr. Shawn Chavez’s lab under the Genome Science (GS) hub, she plans to use real-time imaging and next-generation sequencing to investigate micronuclei formation and fate following mitotic chromosome mis-segregation and whether there are maternal age-related effects on micronuclei rupture and the release of DNA into the cytoplasm, which triggers a cascade of signaling events. As a community college transfer student, she is passionate about increasing the availability of research opportunities to community college students and plans to continue that outreach here at OHSU.
