Biography
James (Jamie) I Cohen, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor in the OHSU Otolaryngology Department and is the Chief of the Otolaryngology Service at the Portland VAMC. He works in the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center as part of the head and neck surgery Otolaryngology team. At the VA, Dr. Cohen works with OHSU residents and medical students from Otolaryngology and other OHSU departments (i.e. Internal Medicine) in this very diverse clinic.
Dr. Cohen earned his medical degree at the University of Manitoba in 1978. In 1984, he completed his Ph.D. in Otolaryngology and Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1984. Following residency, Dr. Cohen completed fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute Houston Texas. Dr. Cohen is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
