James J. Huntzicker, Ph.D.

Biography
Dr. Huntzicker joined Oregon Graduate Center (subsequently renamed to Oregon Graduate Institute) in 1974 and served in a number of capacities, including several department headships (in particular, his home department of Environmental Science), provost, and acting president. He joined OHSU in 2001 when Oregon Graduate Institute became the OGI School of Science & Engineering at OHSU. In 2004 he became Head of the Department of Management in Science & Technology, which subsequently became the Division of Management in the OHSU School of Medicine. Dr. Huntzicker served as Head from 2004-2017 and during that time he co-led the development of the OHSU-Portland State University MBA in Healthcare Management and the Paths to Leadership program for faculty in the School of Medicine. He was formerly chair of the board of directors for Saturday Academy, an organization providing outstanding educational opportunities for children to follow their curiosity. Currently, he teaches multiple courses in the Healthcare MBA, Graduate Certificate and MS in Healthcare Management programs.
