Biography

Jana Childes is a Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice, communication and swallowing disorders, specifically voice disorders in adults and children, vocal cord dysfunction, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Therapy program. She co-developed the pediatric voice program at OHSU. Jana’s research interests include: perceptual voice assessment, vocal cord dysfunction, service access for pediatric voice disorders and the use of speech generating technology to address the communication impairments secondary to ALS and head and neck cancer. She received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska. She serves as adjunct faculty at Portland State University.
