Biography

Dr. Marbach is an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, an Interventional Cardiologist and a Cardiac Intensivist. He grew up in Saskatchewan, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary and his medical degree from the University of Queensland, Australia. He moved to the United States to begin internal medicine residency training at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, where he also served as chief medical resident and completed a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology at the Jefferson College of Biomedical Sciences. Following residency, he completed specialty training in cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and advanced clinical training in interventional cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School and in critical care medicine at Tufts University and Tufts Medical Center.

Dr. Marbach manages patients with a variety of cardiovascular issues, but his primary clinical interest is treating patients with ischemic heart disease. He utilizes both non-invasive and invasive strategies to provide the optimal treatment for each individual patient. He is certified to perform renal denervation to treat resistant hypertension, or high blood pressure that hasn’t responded to other treatments.

Through collaboration with colleagues across the United States and abroad his research activities are directed towards improving outcomes in patients with complex coronary artery disease and cardiogenic shock.
