Dr. Joe Nathanson is a pediatric resident. He chose the field of pediatrics because of his desire to partner with families to find the best way to keep their children healthy. Before medical school, Dr. Nathanson was a middle school teacher in Chicago. There, he learned the importance of social determinants of health and cultivated his desire to work with children and families to ensure that obtaining excellent health care is a reality for everyone, no matter their ZIP code.

Outside of work, Dr. Nathanson enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. He enjoys road biking, hiking, fly fishing and playing soccer. He also enjoys perusing local farmers markets and reading all types of books. He is an avid Oregon Ducks fan and world traveler. His favorite vacation was a 15-day trek in the Himalayas.
