Joshua Cleary, D.N.P.

Biography
Dr. Cleary is an adult inpatient provider at Unity Center for Behavioral Health. He graduated from the University of Portland with a B.S.N. in 2015. As a bedside nurse, he practiced in the cardiac, ICU, and emergency settings. He enrolled in the DNP-PMHNP program at the University of San Francisco in 2019 and graduated in 2022. His doctoral project examined the feasibility of low-Earth orbit satellite internet to address the rural telehealth conundrum. Dr. Cleary is passionate about teaching medical learners and caring for patients with severe mental illness and substance use disorders using an evidence-based and trauma-informed approach. When not at the hospital, he likes to spend time running, hiking, exploring Portland's food scene, and spending time with friends and family.
