Julia Kononowicz, M.D. (she/her)
- Pediatric Critical Care Fellow
Biography
I’m Julia Kononowicz, a Pediatric Critical Care Fellow specializing in critical illnesses such as DKA, respiratory failure, sepsis, and status epilepticus.
I provide supportive management for conditions like shock, sepsis, and respiratory support.
I’m passionate about seeing physiology in action. In critical care, you can quickly assess a patient's response to interventions, and it’s incredibly rewarding when a very sick patient recovers and leaves the hospital with their family.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. My husband and I enjoy hiking, and we’re attempting to train our cat, Maurice, to join us on a leash (though it’s not going well). In the winter, I love skiing, and I can’t resist re-reading and re-watching everything Harry Potter. Additionally, I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur, and I’m on a mission to try and rank all the ice cream shops in Portland. It’s a big job, but someone has to do it!
