Biography

Dr. Julia Saltalamacchia is an Assistant Professor in the Body Imaging section of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. She attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta before moving to the Pacific Northwest to complete Radiology Residency and Fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. She has a particular clinical interest in image-guided biopsies and aspirations and gastrointestinal imaging, especially cancer staging and post-operative imaging. 

Outside of her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Saltalamacchia is interested in undergraduate and graduate radiology medical education, and improving interdisciplinary radiology education. She is passionate about health and workplace equity and pursuing systems-based solutions to the challenges facing the healthcare system. 

Dr. Saltalamacchia is originally from New Jersey, but loves her adopted home of Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and cooking and sharing good food with family and friends.
