Laura Wilsey, Ph.D.

  • Senior Research Associate, CEDAR, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, School of Medicine

Biography

Laura Wilsey received her Ph. D. in Biophysics while investigating homocysteine thiolactone’s role in the carboxylation of the ryanodine receptor found in both skeletal and cardiac muscle. Afterwards she went to work with the Discoveries in Sight research team at Devers Eye Institute focusing on early detection of glaucoma. There, as a staff scientist, her goals where to link multiple in vivo imaging techniques (Optical Coherence Tomography, Confocal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy, ect) with scanning laser confocal microscopy and correlate those with high-resolution Electron Microscopy. Laura is currently working on expanding imaging pipelines from sample preparation to imaging and prost processing of 2- and 3- dimensional light and electron microscopy datasets.
