Biography

Dr. Mutrie is a pediatrician who focuses in caring for children who are in the hospital. Her background is in teaching medicine, global child health and linking medical providers and lawyers to improve access to health care. Her love of team-based care, teaching and advocacy is tied to this work. Her interests include improving health outcomes in various ways, such as understanding social issues that affect health.

Dr. Mutrie, who is from Atlanta, spent time as a Global Health Corps pediatrician in Swaziland through Texas Children's Hospital. She has a master’s degree in the control of infectious disease.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Mutrie enjoys spending time with her husband, a thoracic surgeon, and their two children. They love hiking, trail running, rowing, reading and working in the garden.
