Lucas, a Portland native, started Summer 2024 as a Research Assistant 2 in Dr. Eric Schnell’s Lab after graduating with a BS in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience at UC San Diego. His decision to move home was prompted not only by his desire to be back with friends, family and his golden retriever, but also his love of food, events and the natural surroundings that make Portland such an enjoyable place to live.  

Lucas enjoys running, hiking, reading outdoors in the sun, agonizing over the Trail Blazers, and playing guitar. Fun fact: Lucas hosted a radio show in college.
