Biography

Mackenzie Devereux joins CEDAR as a student worker under research engineer Kai Tao. Mackenzie is double majoring in biophysical chemistry and molecular biology with a minor in physics as a Presidential Scholar at the Oregon State University Honors College. Mackenzie has previous research experience in cancer therapeutics, Alzheimer's/neurodegenerative diseases, biochemistry, neuroscience, molecular genetics, and quantum biology. She has previously worked at OHSU as an intern in the BME department under Dr. Summer Gibbs developing fluorescent surgical contrast agents and targeted cancer detection methods and therapeutics. She enjoys being active, being outside, reading, and volunteering in her free time, and always is looking to learn something new! Mackenzie is excited to join the CEDAR team and believes her experience, motivation, and collaborative attitude will help support CEDAR's mission.
