Manoj K. Sammi
Biography
Manoj Sammi, Ph.D., is researching magnetic resonance spectroscopic measurements of energy metabolism in the human brain. His interests are in development of new MRS measurement techniques, instrumentation and data processing—and their application to physiological and biochemical research.
Dr. Sammi received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He conducted research for his dissertation in the chemistry department at Brookhaven National Laboratory and completed postdoctoral training in the medical department at BNL, where he focused on the development of a novel real-space combination of PET and MR data (PETAMR), measurement of ethanol uptake-kinetics, transverse relaxation rate constant (T2) of human brain metabolites, and ethanol at 4T whole-body human MR system. He holds three patents in the areas of laser-based semiconductor/ electronic processing and one pending patent in the area of water and air purification. In his free time, Dr. Sammi likes to explore the Pacific Northwest with his family.
