Biography

I am a hematology and oncology nurse practitioner, treating patients of all ages for infusion reactions, urgent medical conditions and triage in hematology and oncology. With over 15 years of experience in family medicine, I have cared for individuals ranging from birth to 100 years old. Throughout my career, I have developed skills in performing various procedures and have found it invaluable and rewarding to be involved in community medical outreach.

Working at the Knight Cancer Institute is a privilege. We maintain a high standard of care, and our research program is exceptional. Each team member brings a unique set of skills that enhances our ability to provide quality care.

I have always been passionate about my profession. I focus on comprehensive patient care, stay current with evidence-based practices and collaborate effectively with my colleagues. I enjoy every aspect of my interactions with patients and their families, as I believe it is essential to listen to their needs and expectations. While we have treatment plans and expertise to address their medical issues, it is crucial to understand how they feel about their care.

Now that all six of my children have moved out and are exploring life (including a set of triplets), the empty nest phase has been challenging. However, I have found many activities to keep me occupied. I continue to ski, hike and read avidly. I enjoy anything related to nature, including wilderness medicine and photography. I am also passionate about art and world travel.
