Biography
Philippe Marchand joins CEDAR as Program Director, bringing extensive experience in oncology diagnostics, translational research, and scientific innovation. With a career spanning over three decades, he has led multidisciplinary teams in developing and advancing novel diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for cancer. Most recently, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Biocept where he played a key role in the advancement of CNSide™, a novel assay for metastatic brain cancer detection and therapy guidance. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer at Biosplice Therapeutics, overseeing oncology and regenerative medicine programs from preclinical research through clinical translation. Philippe’s background combines scientific research with strategic execution, having started as a researcher at UC San Diego before transitioning into leadership roles that bridged laboratory discovery with real-world applications in oncology. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Université de Haute Alsace, France, with a research focus that eventually contributed to the advancement of biomedical technologies. Passionate about innovation in early cancer detection, Philippe is eager to collaborate with the CEDAR team to translate research into impactful solutions. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and exploring local music and food scenes and looks forward to discovering all that Portland has to offer.
