Biography
Dr. Ronald Sakaguchi is the 10th Dean of the OHSU School of Dentistry, appointed as interim Dean in October, 2020 and Dean in December, 2021. He joined OHSU in 1994 as a researcher in the Department of Biomaterials and Biomechanics in the School of Dentistry, then served as Professor and Associate Dean for Research & Innovation until 2010 when he joined the Division of Management in the School of Medicine to help launch the OHSU-Portland State University M.B.A. in Healthcare Management. Dr. Sakaguchi’s leadership focus is on innovation, organization and employee development and engagement, systems change, and strategic investment.
Dr. Sakaguchi received a D.D.S. from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, a B.S. in cybernetics from the University of California Los Angeles; an M.S. in prosthodontics from the University of Minnesota; a Ph.D. from the University of Greenwich in London, England (formerly Thames Polytechnic), and an M.B.A. in entrepreneurship from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.
