Biography

Roopradha (Roop) joined OHSU Department of Family Medicine as a Research Associate in March 2018.

Roop is skilled in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. In addition, her dental education aligns her interest towards oral health issues in public health. In the past, Roop engaged in oral health related project, where she performed an analysis of Oregon’s efforts internally and with external partners on oral health initiatives. Roop has also worked with a health plan to review their Medicaid and CHIP dental carve-out approach and conduct a comparative analysis of programmatic responses of unsuccessful RFPs (Request For Proposal) to clearly identify areas for improvement – concurrently creating new content and providing strategic consultation for future dental carve-out RFPs.

During her graduate fieldwork, Roop gained extensive experience through an internship with the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, where she conducted an oral health longitudinal study focused on Native American children. Roop developed, collected and analyzed qualitative and quantitative data with the application of health behavior theories. She presented her findings at the Oregon Public Health Association 2016 Annual Conference and won the award for outstanding poster.

Born in India, Roop is fluent in four languages and loves to travel. In her spare time, she likes watching documentary films depicting historical events and enjoys reading nonfiction books.
