Biography
Dr. Ryan Tweet is a licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor at OHSU’s Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center. Dr. Tweet is also associate director for the Young Adults Diabetes Clinic, where he works with a multidisciplinary team to support young adults with their transition from pediatric to adult care.
His specialty is type 1 and type 2 diabetes with associated metabolic and autoimmune issues. These issues include (but are not limited to) diabetes distress and burnout, difficulties with following a treatment plan, fear of hypoglycemia, general anxiety, depression, and other barriers to optimal care, such as weight management struggles and difficulties regulating a positive relationship with food.
Dr. Tweet provides a safe, collaborative, patient-centered environment that encourages independence and self-confidence for teens and adults living with diabetes. Dr. Tweet shares the tools needed to address many of the stressors of living with a chronic disease.
In his spare time, Dr. Tweet enjoys woodworking, hiking, camping, playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
