  • Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Sara Taub is a general pediatrician and a hospice and palliative medicine physician at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. She works with children of all ages. She appreciates the opportunity to work closely with patients and their families during periods of health and disease. Her priority is to empower them to play an active role in their health and other aspects of their care. She also wants to help children reach their full potential. Her clinical interests are pediatric hospice and palliative medicine, general pediatrics, and medical ethics.

Dr. Taub strives to have a panel of patients that reflects the diversity of our society – following kids who are healthy, medically/behaviorally/socially complex, and from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. She had fellowship training in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. That has provided her with invaluable tools to support patients with serious illnesses, and their families, with complex decision-making. She is comfortable caring for patients on hospice, helping to manage pain and other symptoms that can occur towards end of life.

“It is a privilege to get to partner with children and their families in striving to promote the best possible care for them,” Dr. Taub says.

A dual citizen, Dr. Taub grew up in France but has lived in various parts of the U.S. for over two decades. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking and eating, listening to jazz music, and engaging in Portland’s many cultural offerings. She and her family have a great affinity for the outdoors. They celebrate it with runs, hikes, camping, ski trips and other endeavors.
