Sarah Hecht, M.D.

Biography
Dr. Sarah Hecht is a pediatric urologic surgeon who cares for children of all ages who have problems with their kidneys, bladder or genitals, including children in the Spina Bifida Program.
She has advanced training in pediatric kidney transplantation and complex genitourinary reconstruction. Her approach to care centers on the priorities of her patients and their families, honest communication and technical surgical excellence.
Dr. Hecht completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University. She attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where she received the prestigious Dean’s Merit Scholarship. She completed her urological surgery residency at OHSU, where she won performance, academic and teaching awards. She completed fellowship training in pediatric urologic surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado, where she also served as a clinical instructor before being recruited back to OHSU.
During her training, Dr. Hecht has apprenticed under master surgeons and innovators, including John Barry, M.D., at OHSU and Duncan Wilcox, M.D., and Alberto Peña, M.D., at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
In her free time, Dr. Hecht enjoys skiing and exploring the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest.
