Biography

Sarah Ono, PhD, is a cultural anthropologist with specialized training in feminist anthropology. Dr. Ono conducts health services research and provides scientific leadership in ethnographic methods as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and Core Investigator with the Center to Improve Veteran Involvement in Care (CIVIC) at the VA Portland Health Care System. Dr. Ono’s research interests include ethnographic praxis, patient-centered care, and participatory research. She is currently studying patient and stakeholder engagement in research; understanding traumatic brain injury through photovoice; and evaluation of large scale dissemination and implementation in primary care.
