Sean Rice, PhD

Biography

As a statistician, Sean has expertise in a variety of quantitative methods, such as power analyses, mixed effects modeling, structural equation modeling, parametric and non-parametric testing, and psychometric assessment. He also has experience with a multitude of research designs (e.g., randomized clinical trials, prospective studies, cross-sectional surveys) and data types (e.g., self-report, actigraphy, insurance claims, EHR, biometric markers). Sean provides statistical and methodological support to Institute faculty, as well as the greater OHSU community as a member of the Biostatistics & Design Program in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. Sean has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Washington State University, where his research focused on worker well-being, positive psychology, and psychometrics.
