Biography
Shelby Lee Freed is a family nurse practitioner. She enjoys caring for people of all ages, from birth through the end of life. She appreciates how family, social and community relationships can affect a person's life and health. She is interested in how food and physical activity can aid in a person's health and overall well-being. Freed also derives great joy from teaching the next generation of nurses, and from advocating for her profession.
She has special interests in women's reproductive health, food as medicine, addiction treatment and nursing education.
When she's not working, Freed enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband and two dogs and spends as much of her time outdoors as possible. She runs several races per year and, when not outside or on the road, loves to spend time in her kitchen and garden.
