Biography
Dr. Sylvia White is a naturopathic physician who especially enjoys working with seniors. Dr White received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, before attending the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, where she earned her degree in naturopathic medicine. After graduation, Dr. White spent several years working in private practice in her home state of Montana before making a return to the Portland area with her family. She has been part of the research team at the Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) since 2007 when she welcomed the opportunity to work directly with the aging population as a research clinician.
Other research interests include mental and emotional health challenges in aging populations and impacts of various lifestyle and environmental factors on aging.
When not working, Dr. White enjoys hiking and biking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, spending time with her two growing boys, and inventing healthy, new ways to enjoy bounty from local farmers’ markets.
