Biography

I am a graduate of Oregon Health & Science University, School of Nursing, on the campus of Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While completing my BSN degree, I participated in two academic honors programs - the OHSU Honors Research Series and the Gerontological Nursing Honors Program.  In November 2019, I graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing Education through Walden University.

My clinical nursing background is in intensive care, where I became certified as a critical care nurse (CCRN), received specific training in continuous renal replacement therapy and intracranial pressure monitoring, served as chair of the ICU Specialty Practice Team, and was a member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT).

I returned to the OHSU Monmouth campus in September 2017 as a faculty member, teaching students in the Acute Care I & II, Chronic Illness I, Leadership, and Integrated Practicum courses.  Current appointments include member of the Monmouth Curriculum Committee, Monmouth Campus Representative for the Accessible Statewide Delivery Committee - SON Undergraduate, and Co-Chair for the OHSU SON Undergraduate Council.

Professional affiliations outside of OHSU include various roles on the board of directors for the Beta Psi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, The Honor Society of Nursing.  Positions held include Governance Chair (2014-16), Vice President (2016), President (2016-19), and Campus Counselor, Monmouth (2020-2022).
