Biography
Dr. Tim Sotman joined the OHSU faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Body Imaging section of the Department of Radiology in 2024. Dr. Sotman grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended the University of Texas in Austin for undergraduate before completing medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency in Boston at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging and Interventions at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. While in Boston, Dr. Sotman served as a clinical teaching fellow at Harvard Medical School where he received the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award. As a physician, Dr. Sotman interprets all imaging modalities used in body imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and radiography and performs image guided biopsies and aspirations. Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sotman is involved with medical education, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. His research interests include improving procedural outcomes with radiologic/pathology correlation and using natural language processing and machine learning to improve clinical and research workflows. In his free time, Tim enjoys gardening, making pottery, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife.
