Biography

Dr. Toshinori Fukuda is currently in the alternative pathway fellowship program in Cardiothoracic Radiology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), having previously completed alternative pathway fellowships in Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology at OHSU. He began his medical journey by earning his degree at Toyama University of Medicine in Japan. Following this, he pursued his Diagnostic Radiology residency and fellowship at St. Luke's International Hospital in Tokyo. Dr. Fukuda's interest in artificial intelligence in radiology has led him to spearhead the acquisition of AI computing resources and lead pioneering research projects. His work integrates AI into various imaging modalities, including plain film, breast ultrasound, chest CT, and upper GI series. Beyond his clinical duties, Dr. Fukuda is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring. As a former Chief Resident, he has overseen radiology rotations for visiting medical students and conducted comprehensive didactic and clinical sessions. He has also led numerous educational conferences, contributing significantly to the training of future radiologists. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Fukuda enjoys outdoor activities such as backpacking, scuba diving, and tennis. He has embraced life in Portland, immersing himself in the local culture and even mastering the pronunciation of "Willamette" .
