Xiaolong (Long) Zhang, Ph.D. (he/him)

  • Postdoctoral Scholar, CEDAR, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, School of Medicine

Biography

Long Zhang received his Ph.D. in high-performance computing (HPC) and applied mathematics from Duke University. He is generally interested in computational methods and machine learning (ML) research for health and science. Before joining CEDAR, he was an NSF postdoctoral fellow at The University of Arizona Mathematics Department, where he worked on domain-aware/physics-informed generative diffusion models for information reconstruction, as well as their applications to biomedical image processing, nonlinear dynamical system reconstruction, prediction, and modelling. As a Postdoctoral Scholar at CEDAR, Long aims to apply his expertise in advanced computing and machine learning to develop novel techniques for cancer early detections. In his spare time, Long enjoys nature and hiking in the pacific northwest. He is excited to work with leading experts at CEDAR to advance CEDAR’s mission and ambition.
