About me

Ryan Cummings is a FNP seeing patients in the wound center at OHSU. He is passionate about wound management and patient care.

Chronic wounds are an exponentially growing concern, considering the prevalence of comorbid health conditions that contribute to non-healing. By expertly managing wounds and understanding how these conditions impact the ability to heal, we restore health, dignity and quality of life to the individuals they impact. Wound care is emerging as an evidence-based field in its own right, demanding specialists who understand its nuances and are prepared to advocate for its advancement and train future providers to be better prepared to address disrupted healing.

Additionally, as chronic disease and successful measures for sustaining life in severely ill pediatric patients become more prevalent, non-healing wounds are becoming alarmingly common in this population. Ryan has the extreme privilege of serving this patient group as one of few pediatric wound specialist nurse practitioners, and hopes to contribute to the expansion of this service line during the course of his career.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
