About me

I’m Taylor Smithey, a perinatal mental health therapist and licensed clinical social worker. My focus areas include perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, perinatal grief/loss, and traumatic birth.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Grief/Loss Therapy, and Mindfulness.

In my patient care, I emphasize a trauma-informed, client-centered, and anti-oppressive approach. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all method, as each person comes with their own unique experiences and identities. I strive to meet clients where they are on their mental health journey, providing an empathetic and safe space to explore their goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, including my two dogs, Maxine and Winston. I love reading historical fiction, listening to music (especially attending concerts), crafting, watching crime documentaries, traveling, and being in nature or near water. I also spend a lot of my time working on DIY house projects.

If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher.
