Research Programs
The OHSU Center for Regenerative Medicine is committed to developing cures and therapies for a wide range of medical conditions resulting from disease or injury.
We are harnessing the powers of adult stem cell therapeutics for heart regeneration, to treat extremity injuries such as compartment syndrome, and to treat patients with acute lung injuries. We are using advanced surgical techniques and stem cell therapeutics to prevent paralyzing spinal cord injuries and regenerate peripheral nerves damaged by disease. We are producing novel biomaterials, such as tropoelastin, to create artificial vessels in our vascular program, as well as to prevent the loss of skin elasticity in our burn injury program. Our goal is to translate novel therapies from the lab bench to the bedside and battlefield.
