Program Director Welcome

Welcome to Oregon Health & Science University!

RadOnc PD with residents 23-24

OHSU is located in Portland, Oregon, situated on top of forested Marquam Hill overlooking much of Portland and the Willamette River Valley. The OHSU Department of Radiation Medicine is located in Kohler Pavilion, with views of Mt. Hood and the Portland Aerial Tram seen through our clinic windows.

As the Radiation Oncology Residency Program Director, I take immense pride in ushering our brilliant, intrepid and compassionate residents through their four years of post-graduate training with the mission of cultivating outstanding radiation oncologists equipped with the knowledge and skills to build productive and fulfilling careers as clinicians, educators, researchers and advocates.

The last few years have brought unique challenges to many aspects of our personal and professional lives. Even though you may not be able to physically visit us this interview season, I am hopeful that you can still get a sense of the special culture of our residency program: supportive, respectful, personal and fun.

In the Department of Radiation Medicine, we train residents to become skilled radiation oncologists ready for careers as clinicians, educators, researchers, and patient advocates. Our four-year program combines supervised clinical experiences, lectures, conferences, and research to build both clinical skills and scientific knowledge. We focus on providing this training in a supportive, diverse, and inclusive environment, prioritizing each resident’s well-being and professional growth.
