College of Pharmacy Simulation
Welcome!
The College of Pharmacy jointly awards the Doctor of Pharmacy degree between Oregon State University and Oregon Health & Science University. Students spend their first two years on the main OSU campus in Corvallis. The third year is spent on the OHSU campus at the Center for Health and Healing, prior to their fourth year clerkships.
Simulation in the College of Pharmacy exists throughout the Pharmacy Practice course sequences in years 1-3. Highlights of simulation include:
- P2 Physical Assessment Course: Located at OSU, use of high fidelity mannequins to learn basic physical examination skills.
- P3 Clinical Skills: Located at OHSU, use of standardized patients to learn patient interview and basic examination skills.
Simulation Facilities at OHSU
Currently, the P3 clinical simulation activity takes place in four simulation exam rooms that are adjacent to the primary pharmacy proctor labs. Each exam room is structured like an ordinary exam room with a sink, basic exam equipment, and can change to accommodate the patient/pharmacist interactions.
