Statewide Simulation and Clinical Learning Centers
The Statewide Simulation & Clinical Learning Center (SCLC) was developed through the collaborative vision of the OHSU Schools of Medicine and Nursing. Our high-fidelity learning environments feature state-of the-art manikins, equipment, and the use of standardized patients to create innovative and meaningful experiential learning experiences. Our internationally renowned faculty and partners collaborate to implement simulation throughout our curriculum. We collaborate across the academic institutions, within the OHSU community and throughout the state of Oregon to provide high quality simulation training aimed towards improving patient care and enhancing safety in health care. We are recognized as a Laerdal Center of Education Excellence.

Becoming a nurse
OHSU recognizes the importance of simulation technology as a tool in the education of health care providers. Its importance is rapidly expanding and will become the standard in the new millennium. A competent practitioner requires knowledge; technical skills; communication skills; and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Educators now have the ability to expose participants to each of these areas.
Simulation is a part of OCNE, our statewide curriculum and helps to develop clinical judgment and becoming a nurse.
