Dental implants
At our clinic on South Waterfront in Portland, we offer state-of-the-art dental implants as a treatment option for many patients who have lost a tooth due to tooth decay, gum disease or an injury. Our services generally cost 30% less than private practice. An implant may be more affordable than you think.
In the Periodontal Clinic we provide comprehensive treatment options to address gum and bone issues from basic scaling and planning to advanced surgery. Talk with your dentist for about the treatment that is appropriate for you. Treatment services include:
Do I need a dental implant?
If you have lost a tooth or teeth due to tooth decay, gum disease or an injury, your dentist or periodontist may suggest a tooth implant.
How do I know if a dental implant is right for me?
The ideal candidate for a dental implant has good general and oral health, with healthy gum tissue and enough bone in the jaw to support the implant. Your periodontist or oral surgeon will tailor a treatment plan to your needs.
What can I expect after receiving a dental implant?
Dental implants are like your own teeth and will require the same care. You'll need to brush and floss to keep your implant clean and plaque-free. Follow-up visits will be scheduled to monitor your implant, teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy.
Types of dental implants and procedures
Dental Implant options include:
- Replacing one tooth: One implant and a crown can replace a single tooth.
- Replacing several teeth: Implant-supported bridges can replace several teeth.
- Replacing all teeth: An implant-supported full bridge or full denture can replace all teeth.
- Sinus augmentation: The quantity and quality of bone to support the implant is the key to success. The upper back jaw has traditionally been a challenging area to place implants because it can lack bone amount and quality, and because it's close to the sinus. Sinus augmentation raises the sinus floor and develops bone to correct this problem.
- Ridge modification: Deformities in the upper or lower jaw can leave you without enough bone to support implants. In ridge modification, the gum is lifted from the ridge, and bone or bone substitute is used to build up the ridge. This procedure can greatly improve appearance and increase the chances of having implants that last years to come.
The cost may include the implant, surgery, sedation and possibly bone or tissue grafting. Meet our dentists for an evaluation and custom treatment plan.
General cost ranges:
- Implant restoration: $1,500 to $2,280
- Implant surgery, not including sedation: $1,400 to $2,000
- Single implant restoration: $400 to $900
