Education Program Update

Strong Addiction Medicine and Older Adult Programs Support ORPRN Education Program Successes

The Oregon ECHO Network (OEN) continues to forge strong connections with healthcare providers by offering critical continuing education opportunities in all corners of Oregon and beyond. Over a dozen programs are currently underway as part of our Winter 2025 offerings, and registration is now open for the Spring 2025 quarter.

In the Addiction Medicine division, we are motivated by terrific momentum from the 2023-2024 program year where we saw 1,107 unique participants alone. Of those who provided feedback after completing a program, the responses were overwhelmingly positive.

This impact is reflected in feedback from one of our advisory board members: ECHO’s collaborative approach, “…creates relationships and bonds based on a shared commitment to serve Oregonians.”

OEN’s general programming also saw strong participation and growth in 2023-2024, where we offered nine brand new courses on topics such as Cannabis, Menopause, and Health Equity for Public Health Agencies. The full OEN 2023-24 report can be found here. Attendees found great value in their participation.

OEN also offers a menu of programming around care for the Older Adult population. Since its inception, we have completed 27 ECHO cohorts across 10 topic areas including Nursing Facility Behavioral Health, Parkinson’s Disease, and Geriatric Care in an Age-Friendly Health System. Of the more than 1,000 individuals who have registered for one of these courses, 42% report participating in more than one program. A full report on our Older Adult section can be found here.

Please check out our current Spring offerings. Programs are offered for no cost to you, and offer no cost continuing education credits. We hope to see you in an ECHO session soon.
