Callia Elkhal, M.D.

  • Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care, School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Elkhal loves working with children and families, developing relationships and stories together through the years. She especially enjoys watching children feel better and sharing all of their grand schemes and goals for life. She initially chose medicine because of how incredible the human body and brain work and continues in pediatrics for both the pleasure of seeing kids thrive and supporting their dreams. After completing residency where she was excited to be the pediatrician of many children at both Randall Children's Clinic and Doernbecher Pediatrics Hospital, she currently works in both the Neonatal ICU and the Pediatric ICUs.

Outside of work, Dr. Elkhal and her husband (Family Medicine resident Dr. Ishak Elkhal) have found themselves busy caring for a new infant as he learns to crawl, eat, and get into fun trouble. Having a child recently has only enhanced the understanding and care she has with families. She loves watching her son grow and takes special time away from work to go on walks together in the Oregon green, watch Timbers & Thorns games, share stories, plays games, and try her hand at Italian cooking. Her small family feels lucky to have so much loving family locally as Oregon has always been her home.
