Biography
Dr. Magarian’s passion has always been as a physician-teacher. In this regard, beginning in 1984 and spanning three decades, he was responsible for coordinating the introductory clinical experiences of OHSU students in internal medicine, and is recognized as an excellent teacher of students and housestaff. He was also one of the founders of the national organization of Clerkship Directors of Internal Medicine, serving as their first president, being recognized by CDIM in receiving their service award. Before coming to OHSU, where he joined the faculty in 1978, he was an Active Duty Flight Surgeon through the United States Air Force.
