Biography
Dr. Daniel "Payton" Sterba, M.D., is an assistant professor in psychiatry at the OHSU School of Medicine and an adult inpatient psychiatrist at Unity Center for Behavioral Health. Dr. Sterba joined the faculty at OHSU after completing OHSU's Adult Psychiatry Residency Program in 2021. In his final year of training, he served as a chief resident.
Dr. Sterba enjoys helping patients understand their inner experiences and find healing from emotional or psychological suffering. He recognizes the courage it takes for individuals to seek treatment for their mental health. He strives to be patient-centered and trauma-informed, utilizing both medications and psychotherapy. Dr. Sterba also serves as a mentor and educator for medical students and psychiatry residents.
