About me
Dr. Jane Plagge is a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of PTSD, chronic pain, depression, and anxiety. She is inspired by research findings that lead to better treatment outcomes for her clients.
She enjoys her work on the PTSD Clinical Team at the VA Portland Health Care System providing assessment and psychotherapy. She has experience as a researcher and is an advocate for evidence-based treatments as the hospital-wide Evidence Based Psychotherapy Coordinator. In addition, Dr. Plagge is the founder of Bridgetown Counseling and provides psychotherapy in the Portland community.
Dr. Plagge finds pleasure and reward in helping individuals reconnect with their values and engage in activities they find meaningful. She has clinical expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
She further enjoys teaching and providing supervision and consultation to graduate and medical students, psychology trainees, and mental health professionals. She provides supervision and consultation to those seeking licensure or further training in cognitive-behavioral, evidence-based psychotherapies. She especially enjoys training others in CBT for chronic pain and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. She, herself, identifies as a life learner.
