Please review the compliance requirements outlined on the School of Nursing compliance page. You will receive more compliance instructions upon admission to an OHSU program.

Interview dates

Many of our undergraduate and graduate admissions committees offer interviews. This allows us to get to know our applicants better. The committee will notify applicants they want to interview.

We share interview dates to help applicants plan work and travel schedules. This does not guarantee an interview, and these dates are subject to change. If you apply to multiple undergraduate programs, you may be required to attend multiple interview dates.

Accelerated bachelors and three-year bachelors program applicants who are selected to interview will be completing an asynchronous assessment using Kira Talent.

Interview invites will be sent out about a month after the application deadline.

International applicants

The OHSU School of Nursing welcomes international applicants to most of our programs. Students are considered international applicants if they are not a US citizen or permanent resident. Regardless of whether the individuals have attended high school or college in the US. We are only authorized to provide F1 student visas for our campus-based programs. Thus, international applicants are not eligible for any online, distance or hybrid programs.

International applicants must submit supplemental information in addition to our standard admission requirements. These are outlined below.

The TOEFL exam scores will be used to test your English language skills. You may get information about taking the TOEFL. The OHSU SON requires a minimum TOEFL score of 83 (*iBT) for admission to our programs. We do not accept IELT scores.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Box 899
Princeton, N.J. 08540
609-771-710

All foreign transcripts must be translated by an official transcript evaluation service. Applicants must provide a course-by-course evaluation that shows:

  • the course name
  • grade received using a U.S. grading scale
  • cumulative grade point average (GPA)
  • degree earned.

Applicants with international nursing credentials will need to show that prior nursing education is equal to that offered in the US. We recommend you use CGFNS Credential Evaluation Service for this.

We recommend applicants with a non-nursing background use the World Education Services (WES) to evaluate international coursework.

Internationally trained RNs looking to apply to a master's or doctoral program will need to meet licensure requirements. Please contact the Oregon State Board of Nursing for information about obtaining an Oregon RN license.

  • Applicants must be eligible for an Oregon registered nurse license upon application.
  • Admitted students must be licensed in the state of Oregon prior to matriculation. Proof of Oregon licensure must be provided before the first day of classes.
  • We advise international applicants to start this process early to ensure you are licensed before the start of classes.
