Skin Tag Removal
Skin tags are benign skin growths that can be found on many areas of the body. Skin tags may appear smooth, irregular, brown or flesh colored. The usual locations include the eyelids, neck, armpits, bra or breast area and other areas, including the groin. Skin tags are often considered unsightly, but they are harmless. There are various ways to remove skin tags. Location and patient preference usually dictate the right option.
Treatments include:
- Cauterization, which uses a small amount of heat created from a specialized tool or laser to quickly burn the skin tag, but not the surrounding skin
- Cryosurgery, which uses liquid nitrogen to “freeze” the skin tag
- Surgical excision
