The Hernia and Abdominal Wall Center at OHSU is a comprehensive team of surgeons and clinical staff with expertise in hernias and abdominal wall disorders.  Our devoted team strives to deliver exceptional surgical care to promote successful outcomes following hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction.  

Our mission is to hone the art and science of hernia repair and restore the abdominal wall, leaving patients with functional & durable outcomes, and ultimately improving quality of life.  This mission is driven by thorough clinical evaluation and surgical care, continuous improvement in outcomes, and robust research to further explore the science of hernia repair. 

We offer multidisciplinary care for patients that require not only hernia-specific care, but also other medical and surgical disciplines that involve hernias and abdominal wall pathology.  We work closely with our Bariatric, Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, Urology, Plastic Surgery & Wound Care, Pain Center, as well as Pediatric & Adult Aortopathy Program colleagues to foster comprehensive collaborative care.

Locations

Our clinic is located on the 8th floor of CHH2 (Center for Health & Healing, Building 2) where we provide preoperative and postoperative evaluations.

We offer surgical repairs at multiple OHSU venues across the Portland metro area to provide convenient locations that serve the needs of our patients.  The surgical team will discuss the optimal surgery location based on your case type & complexity, including:

• OHSU Marquam Hill (main hospital campus up the hill)
• CHH2 (Center for Health & Healing, Building 2; down at the South Waterfront Campus)
• Adventist Health Portland  
• Hillsboro Medical Center
