Transplant Infectious Diseases (TID)
OHSU has a robust, dedicated Transplant ID program led by Dr. Lynne Strasfeld, Medical Director, and staffed by 5 additional faculty: Drs. Morgan Hakki, Zouyan Lu, Christopher Pfeiffer, Poornima Ramanan, and Ellie Sukerman. The Transplant ID team sees patients at OHSU and the Portland Veteran’s Administration Hospital, both inpatient and at several outpatient clinic locations, for diagnosis and management of infection in the course of cellular therapy (hematopoietic cell transplantation, CAR T-cell therapy), solid organ transplantation, chemotherapy for hematologic malignancy, and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) support. Several members of the Transplant ID team lead programmatic efforts in Infection Prevention and Control, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and standard practice guideline development with an emphasis on optimizing care for this vulnerable patient population. Transplant ID faculty are heavily engaged in teaching the full spectrum of learners at our center and are active in Transplant ID-focused research at the local and national level.
