Gabriella Tost, BA, she/her
Gabriella is from Quito, Ecuador and graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a B.A. in Psychology and Economics. She worked with Dr. Yueping Zhang researching the role of bilingualism on executive functioning and how culture influences perception. Her interests include developmental psychopathology and public health. In the SNACK lab, she provides cross-site coordination for the MADDY study, and oversees the OHSU MADDY site, working with the participating study families.
Dalton Wesemann
Dalton is currently a master's student at Oregon Health & Science University in the Health Management & Policy track. Before this they received their dual degree bachelors in Community Health Promotion and Urban & Public Affairs at Portland State University. Their research interests include youth mental health, suicidality, and treatments for psychiatric conditions.
Andrew Hughes, MD, he/him
Dr. Andrew Hughes runs a therapy-focused private practice in Portland, OR. In addition to standard psychiatric treatments, he incorporates integrative approaches, such as those studied in the SNACK lab, in the treatment of his patients. He completed his psychiatry residency at OHSU research track. He’s originally from North Dakota, but left to complete his BSc in Psychology at the University of British Columbia. While there, he developed an interest in mental health research. He returned to his home state to complete his medical degree at the University of North Dakota, before coming to Portland for residency. His current research interests include the impact of nutrition on mental health, and the use of nutritional supplements as treatment for mental health conditions.
Christina Zonker, BA, she/her
Christina graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BA in Psychology. She joined OHSU in October of 2021 as a volunteer research assistant for Dr. Nigg's lab at the Center of ADHD Research and was brought on full-time in July of 2022. She currently works part-time for Dr. Suzanne Mitchell in the Translational Neuroeconomics Lab studying delay discounting in animal models.
Andrew Savoy, he/him
Andrew studied psychology, biology, systems science, and philosophy of science at Portland State University. In addition to being a research assistant for the MADDY study, he assists in the analysis of delay discounting data in Dr. Suzanne Mitchell’s Translational Neuroeconomics Lab at OHSU, and previously assisted in cognitive testing and neuroimaging in the labs of Dr. Joel Nigg and Dr. Sarah Karalunas at OHSU. He is also a biochemistry tutor and music instructor. Andrew begins a PhD program in Integrative Neuroscience at University of Chicago in the Fall of 2019. He will study the neuroethology of valuation, preference, and choice in songbirds and people.
Mason McLellan, BA, he/him
Having lived most of his life in Oregon, Mason recently completed his B.A. in psychology with a minor in gender studies at Lewis & Clark College. His research interests include the study of emotion regulation, trauma, personality, and treatment specialization, all from a neurophysiological perspective. Mason is a research assistant working with multiple labs at OHSU on projects including the MADDY Study, PEACH Study, and NEMO Study. He aims to go on to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and a career balancing hand-on research and clinical practice.
Heather Gilliam, BS, she/her
Heather recently received her B.S. in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and is currently working as a research assistant on the MADDY study. Her interests include research in nutritional genetics and the impact of nutrition in childhood development.
