The OHSU Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine is committed to the education of our future physicians. We support education at all levels of training, from involvement in the first 18 months of the Foundations curriculum as preceptors, simulation instructors and Clinical Skills Lab instructors, to clinical instruction via electives in anesthesiology. Current courses are listed below:
Introductory Anesthesiology Course:
ANST 709A Clinical Anesthesiology (MS4) 3 week Sub-I in anesthesiology, prerequisites completion of minimum of 4 weeks medicine and surgery rotations, fulfills the Surg 2 requirement for OHSU students
Subspecialty Anesthesiology Courses:
ANST 709B Obstetric Anesthesiology – 3 week rotation, prerequisite ANST 709A
ANST 709D Cardiovascular ICU - 3 week rotation, prerequisites completion of 4 weeks inpatient medicine and surgery rotations
ANST 709E Global Anesthesia, 2 week advanced overseas rotation, prerequisite required, contact Erin Conner to inquire.
ANST 709P Pain Medicine 3 - week elective, no prerequisite
ANST 709N Neuro ICU 3 week rotation, prerequisite of 4 weeks of inpatient medicine, preferably 4 weeks of neurology
